Awesome Weather
Wow, what a day!! I don’t know if it’s even possible to describe how great it was/still is. I spent the morning doing homework and packing. It was beautiful and sunny with a random little bit of rain then sun again. I finished packing and started to drive to American Fork around 4ish? Almost immediately I started seeing lightning which was really close. It was huge! Going all across the sky and sometimes I felt as though I watched the bolt of lightning come out of heaven itself and come all the way down to touch the earth. The thunder was booming! It was so loud and close; I could hear the loud crack sound before the actual prolonged thunder. It was AMAZING! I love lightning and thunder storms as it is, but I felt as though I had a front row seat for this great show! I was perfectly happy hitting every red light on the way because I was able to just sit there and enjoy the beauty. It was not raining for the first little while but as I got on the freeway the rain began and came on really fast. Before I knew it, I was in a full on downpour and cars were going really slow. If you know me, you’ll know that I absolutely loved every single minute of it. After a bit, I looked to my left and there was a spot opening in the clouds. It was so beautiful! White puffy clouds with the sun shining through, lighting them up. I probably took 15 pictures of that heavenly sight with my cell phone (while stopped of course. We would be stopped for a while then go a bit then stop again.) By the time I got to my freeway exit I had to pull out my sunglasses because it was sunny and bright again without a hint of rain or lightning. It was just gorgeous with the world all wet from the rain with the sun shining on it. Well, I unpacked the car and was in the kitchen when suddenly I heard something outside. I looked out the window and it was hailing! It was really coming down! Where in the word did that come from? The hail lasted a few minutes just coming down steady until it turned into another downpour of large rain drops. Lots and lots of rain! I just stood there at the door watching and listening to it for a while which was nice. So soothing. Now it is after 11pm and I am in my new basement listening to the rain and thunder. For the past couple hours there has been consistent rain and thunder. I was on the phone with my family for a while but after the second time the power flickered and kicked me off of the phone call I just gave up and decided to enjoy the sounds outside. The beautiful sounds of nature.
